Still laughing...

Just found a great laugh... I love it.
These two are my favourites :)
Just realised you can't read the text... It says:
She'd been begging her parents to swap out the gravel for a real lawn, with chairs and everything.
She hadn't counted on their literalism.
And then – a wild gust of wind.

Happy Valentine's Day back at you..

My crazy kids
Made us a tray of cupcakes
inside Sam's card - I'm not sure about the 'death star' or the owls ?
in the years I've been alive....
ever since I was born...

Can't believe it...

Alexander McQueen is dead. He took his own life last night in his apartment. I'm totally devastated at the loss this is for fashion... I just loved his creations. He was a visionary. The Autumn 2008 collection - it is my absolute favourite... half Indian Princess and half Goth Queen. Wasn't he just amazing? Did you love his clothes too?

The snow plough man didn't come...

So trying to get in and out of the driveway is....
more difficult than driving onto the beach
off a 'barge'
Snow is much more slippery,
The rodent footsteps are now not so easy to see,
you sink to your knees just getting into the house,
sort of makes you wonder where it all goes when it melts...
VALENTINE cookies from SK class - not quite Martha Stewart worthy !

Band time

Remember when Bella had to do the Yr 5 Instrumental Program and got the Glockenspiel? Well, we've been holding our breaths about which instrument Lola was going to come home with today... she had a conversation with the trombone teacher yesterday and it really sounded like she was going to get that... but no, it's the alto sax! At least it's not huge... still it's going to be a challenging walk to and home from school every Thursday!

Surprise visitor :)

Your lovely Mr dropped in for a visit this morning! Such a surprise. Apparently he saw Roy yesterday at the Barracks. And look at the beautiful flowers he gave me... Thanks Mark :)

Off to the bus stop - if we can find it.

and no BBQ for dinner tonight .......

Wonders never cease...

You know how I'm really not interested in food, restaurants, any of that?
Well... I've just totally fallen in love with a food blog... :0
I know, unbelievable!!!
You have to have a look... it is just exquisite.
NYC
We so have to take notes for next visit!

Also...

I almost forgot... I've also been embroidering this angel and have been wondering what I could possibly make it into. Then, when I saw your post about Audrey losing her front teeth I thought "I know!" I'll make a tooth fairy cushion with little pockets for tooth and money :) It's still being made but I'll be sending it over to Miss A as soon as I've finished.

Crafty Day

I still can't get over the snow you're having! I wish I could show you some blue sky but it's rainy cloudy overcast here... high humidity still so it feels like soup, of course! Okay, so no blue sky to show you but a pic of somewhere you know very well! Walked down to Emporium yesterday looking for birthday gifts at Coaldrakes (didn't find) and new dance gear for Bella (did find).
This is what I've been doing the last week. Crocheting hexagons for a blanket and trying out the 'fancy pants' method of joining them together as I go... not always successfully, but I'm learning ;)
Also decided the outdoor chairs need some super groovy home-crocheted flat cushions... work in progress is below. They're a bit wobbly at the moment because the white yarn is a slightly different thread size... I'm hoping they will press flat or that when I make them into cushions I can stretch them flat... or something ;)
I bought the yarn at the same place I had my crochet lessons last year, Tangled Yarns... have you been in there? VERY yummy but an absolute money pit! It just disappears from my pockets every time I visit! ;) I'm going to drop in and see if they have any suggestions for my wobbly cushion (hopefully today if I can get out of the house!)
You can have a peek at Tangled Yarns on their website and their blog.
Walking home up the back lane... it was so leafy and lush... just had to take a pic :)
